Cyn's Doula Services

My Path to Doula Care
From the bedside to the birthroom
I'm a U.S. Registered Nurse turned doula. I've worked in-patient hospital units, COVID testing sites, adult and pediatric clinics, and finally phone triage. As a phone triage nurse, I talked people through some frightening moments without ever being in the room with them. Those experiences taught me something I didn't expect: presence matters more than proximity. People don't need someone to fix things for them nearly as often as they need someone steady beside them as they find their own way.
After moving across the world in search of a slower and more intentional life, I found the space to rediscover my love for birth work and the kind of care I want to offer. What I actually missed wasn't the clinical work. It was the moments of simply showing up for someone.
My approach is grounded in bodily autonomy, reproductive justice, and the belief that people already carry wisdom within themselves. I offer honest information, compassionate support, and a non-judgmental presence while helping create the time and space for you to ask questions, consider your options, and make choices that remain your own. I believe there is something magnificent in witnessing people respond as they truly need to, trusting their emotions, instincts, and choices without making themselves smaller for the comfort of others.
I'm inspired by the long tradition of communities caring for one another and by the belief that we were never meant to move through life's biggest transitions alone. While birth is at the heart of my work, my support extends to abortion, loss and grief, gender-affirming transition, end of life, and other significant life events.
Whatever brings you here, my hope is that you feel seen, respected, and supported as you find your own way.
